In your journal, consider today’s quote in a today-oriented context. What do you suppose George Lucas (via the Star Wars character) means by the quote? Do you see this happening in today’s society? Alternatively, is the fictitious character simply stating an untruth?

Journal writing prompt bonus: Sometimes, it’s easy to take our liberties from granted. In your journal, write out a short list of the liberties that you value most in your life. Can you envision a time when they may be gone? If so, imagine the context in which it could be taken? How do you suppose it would be presented to you – something “for your own good”? A life lesson? Write about it in your journal.
